Yealand Fund Services Ltd is now B Corp certified

B Corps are businesses certified by B Lab for high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

When we began the B Corp verification process, we were clear on our reasons for doing so.  Because it matters to us.

Being B Corp certified has formalised our existing commitment to bring benefit not just to shareholders, but to consider our other stakeholders too — our clients and our employees, the local community, and the wider environment.

To become certified, we participated in a rigorous verification process which evaluated our practices and outputs across five categories:

We demonstrated our commitment in each of these categories by providing evidence of what we do, how we do it and how we intend to continuously improve.

A company needs to score at least 80 to join the global B Corp community and we’re very proud that Yealand achieved a score of 101.5 points.

Being B Corp certified does not mean we are perfect.  It shows that we are part of a global community of business working collectively for economic systems change. We’ve now stepped into a framework of continuous improvement and will learn from other B Corp certified businesses to ensure we build on what we already do.

Customers

We build trusted partnerships with our clients by creating a positive and long-term experience. Our talented team and well-governed processes provide confidence that funds under our management operate to the highest regulatory standards.

Workers

We are open in our communications; we share our business plan (including financials) and we report on progress. We encourage two-way dialogue via our Town Hall meetings, in our employee forum, or via our annual employee engagement survey. We were included in the Times Best Places to Work list (2024).

Community

Our community engagement efforts aim to inspire young people to work in our industry.  We volunteer at careers events and we host student visits. Our charity endeavours support our employee-chosen charity of the year. We have donated and wrapped Christmas gifts, we’ve held bake-sales and we’ve tidied up the gardens of a local children’s hospice.

Governance

Our impact committee, responsible for community engagement, charity endeavours and environmental sustainability is set up like all our other business committees and follows the same reporting line – directly to our Executive Committee with our Board reviewing progress on a quarterly basis.
